About the Recipe

Port Wine Pudding is an elegant dessert, with a subtle wine aroma and creamy texture.

The drink serves as a perfume, not as an excess, respecting the classic base of eggs and milk.

Ingredients

  • 8 eggs
  • 700 ml of milk
  • 200 g of sugar
  • 80 ml of Port Wine
  • Caramel for the mold
  • 1 pinch of salt

Preparation Method

  1. Prepare the caramelized mold.
  2. Mix eggs, milk, sugar, salt, and Port Wine.
  3. Strain.
  4. Pour into the mold.
  5. Bake in a water bath until set.
  6. Cool completely before unmolding.

Tips from Empório Portugal

  • Use Port Wine in moderation.
  • Straining avoids uneven texture.
  • Serve in small slices.

Possible Substitutions in Brazil

  • Tawny Port Wine gives a more caramelized profile.
  • For an alcohol-free version, omit the wine and use orange zest.

Pairing

Coffee or Tawny Port Wine. Content intended for those over 18 years old. Drink responsibly.
