Batatas a murro are a simple and expressive Portuguese side dish.

Ingredients

  • 800 g of small potatoes
  • 4 cloves of sliced garlic
  • 80 ml of olive oil
  • Coarse salt
  • Pepper
  • Rosemary or bay leaf optional

Preparation method

  1. Cook the potatoes with skin until soft.
  2. Drain and give a light "murro" to each one.
  3. Place in a baking dish with garlic and olive oil.
  4. Season with coarse salt and pepper.
  5. Bake until golden on the edges.
